CTQ is proud to be part of the consultant team delivering a landmark multi-phase residential development in Lake Country, British Columbia. Led by West Point Projects in collaboration with Zeidler Architects, this transformative 8-acre urban village will provide much-needed rental housing, enhanced community amenities, and improved connectivity for residents in one of the Okanagan’s fastest-growing communities.
Recently, the project reached a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of Phase 1, marking the beginning of construction on the first rental apartment buildings within the integrated, multi-generational community.
Creating a Connected and Sustainable Community
West Point Projects unveiled the first phase of this ambitious development as part of a long-term vision for sustainable growth in the District of Lake Country. The project has been made possible through close collaboration between the development team, municipal leadership, and planning staff, whose efforts supported key planning approvals, rezoning initiatives, and municipal boundary realignments.
From the earliest master planning stages in 2024, CTQ was engaged to provide landscape architecture services and work alongside the developer, architects, engineers, and municipal stakeholders to establish a cohesive vision for the site’s future.
Situated along a key transportation corridor in Lake Country, the development occupies a strategically important location with direct connections to the town centre and the popular Okanagan Rail Trail along the eastern property boundary. Ensuring safe, accessible, and attractive pedestrian and cyclist connections became a central focus of the landscape design process.
CTQ’s Role in the Master Planning and Landscape Architecture
As landscape architects, CTQ Consultants worked closely with West Point Projects, Zeidler Architects, and the District of Lake Country to develop a holistic landscape framework that supports multiple phases of development while enhancing the public realm.
The result is a development that prioritizes not only housing delivery but also the creation of vibrant public spaces that foster community connection and long-term livability.
Strong Partnerships Deliver Better Communities
Projects of this scale and importance are only possible through collaboration. CTQ has greatly valued the opportunity to work alongside West Point Projects and Zeidler Architects throughout the planning and design process.
Their commitment to delivering accessible rental housing, high-quality amenities, and sustainable community development has helped create a strong foundation for this important Lake Country project. Together, the consultant team has focused on balancing housing needs with placemaking principles that support residents of all ages and lifestyles.
By integrating thoughtful landscape architecture into the development from the outset, the project aims to create a welcoming environment where people can live, connect, and thrive.
Looking Ahead to Construction and Future Phases
With Phase 1 now under construction, CTQ is excited to see years of planning, coordination, and design begin to take shape on the ground. The team is pleased with the progress achieved to date and looks forward to supporting the continued delivery of future phases as the development evolves into a vibrant, multi-generational urban village.
As Lake Country continues to grow, developments like this play a critical role in expanding the rental housing supply while creating connected, amenity-rich communities that contribute positively to the region’s future.
