CTQ Consultants is proud to be working with the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen on various Parks projects, which include Mariposa Park, Spirit Park, Pioneer and Manitou Parks.
Mariposa Park situated in Penticton, BC is a project that requires CTQ to provide a grading and planting plan.
Spirit Park, located in Naramata, BC, requires a redesign. The park is bordered by roads and the pickleball courts/multi-use court/play area, with distinct grade issues to the courts and run-off occurring from the roads in storm events. The intent is to design a park space to embrace the existing amenities and enable more public use, plus creating opportunities to contain storm run-off through soft landscape interventions.
Pioneer Park is the main recreational area within Kaleden and the RDOS is looking to redo and enhance the existing park area. CTQ’s objective involves the design of the pathway connectivity to meet universal accessibility through the site (to the washrooms, park tables, boat launch area and parking lot/KVR trail), fire pit zone near basketball court, move the volleyball court to ensure it has the space to be functional, swing boom at boat launch, fencing barrier along boat launch and road to match timber fence at parking lot, sail shade and tree planting, and to provide guidance for the future site improvements construction.
Manitou Park is situated on the Okanagan Lake front in Naramata, BC. The park has recently been through an upgrade to its facilities and walkway network and the RDOS is now looking to move ahead with additional upgrades, and we are very excited to have the opportunity to provide our landscape architectural designs for this future work.
